Broken Bells is made of Danger Mouse and James Mercer, the singer of The Shins. This mixture of talent makes for a group that sounds like a mixture of MGMT and Gorillaz. This is a brand new group for me, but I definitely see the potential for more great albums in their future. Their self titled album has already produced one of the most recognizable commercial songs of last year, The High Road. This song has been featured in several commercials, including one promo for the movie Blue Valentine.
My favorite songs are The High Road, The Ghost Inside, October, Mongrel Heart, and The Mall and the Misery. I am not sure what category this band belongs in, but whatever it is, it is catchy.
